Dear Parents,
Thank you for sharing your student with me during this school year. At times items like assignments and planners get left behind at school, and I like to remind my beloved students about important assessments, projects and/or special items needed in class on a certain day. I send out email blasts on a regular basis. If you don’t receive emails from me, please let me know since email servers like to label me as “spam” periodically. I am not processed meat!
I periodically send text messages out as reminders about what’s happening in class using the service Remind. Standard text messaging rates apply.

Q: Where can I find information about the class not posted on this blog page?
A: You may login to Canvas OR you may login to the Home Access Center (HAC) to check on student progress with grades, absences, and tardies.
Q: How does Mrs. Johnson contact me or my students electronically?
A: I use two main methods of direct communication with students and/or parents individually or en masse.
(1) I use the students’ GMail account set-up for them by Frisco ISD. It follows this format: first name.last name.last three numbers of student ID@k12.friscoisd.org. Here is a fake email account following the format: jane.watson.207@k12.friscoisd.org. I use the email you provided at registration to contact you at various times during the marking period and school year. As a staff, we encourage our students to check their accounts regularly for class information.
(2) I use Remind to either text/email parents and students information.
Q: What is Mrs. Johnson’s policy about social media?
A: I maintain a Twitter feed for my parents and students to follow for periodic updates. You may follow me at @MrsJsClassroom.
Q: What is the curriculum for your World Cultures and Geography class?
A: We follow the Frisco ISD curriculum using National Geographic’s World Cultures and Geography as our main textbook. It is available online.
Q: How quickly do you respond to email communication and telephone calls?
A: I usually respond within twenty-four hours as a general note. There are times when I may be able to respond sooner. If it’s after school hours, I generally respond first thing in the morning.
