First Few Days

The first few days of the 2025-2026 school year have gone well so far. Students are adjusting to the routine of Mrs. Johnson’s World. They are expected to bring their charged chromebook, pencils, and earbuds to school each day. Colored pencils and markers are occasionally used. We just started working in our first unit INB (interactive notebook) on Tuesday.  Check Canvas for the coursework when you’re absent. Good night!

First Day, 2024-2025

I woke up bright and early for the new school year. My classroom is set up, and I will officially meet my new students today. I made sure my presentations were spot on. I will be encouraging students and parents to join the World Cultures Remind group for the 2024-2025 year. You can do so by clicking this link. World Cultures Remind

Organization Time!

On Friday, August 11, we took time to organize our notebooks aka binders. Students were asked to bring in five dividers. Here are the names for those labeling at home.

  1. Introduction
  2. Americas
  3. Europe
  4. Africa
  5. Asia

Our course has ten units, so we will put our notes for each unit under one of the five categories where it belongs. Thanks to the more than 90 percent who took care of business on Friday. Woohoo!

Mrs. J Has Skills!

Yep, I can write backwards, too!

We are learning virtually right now for the first three weeks whether parents opted for in person or virtual academy. As a result, I use Zoom to conduct my classes. Today I wanted to demonstrate the words “push” and “pull” factors. I realized I had to write them backwards so they would mirror properly on my Chromebook. Education is always learning and trying something you didn’t realize you could do. I will add this to my skill set. My virtual academy kids will get a kick out of seeing how well I write backwards one day soon. More anon.
