Dear Students and Parents,

I welcome you to my class for the 2012-2013 school year.  We work together in ILA or integrated language arts for a two-hour class block on a daily basis.  As a result, I spend a great deal of time with my students. We looked at policies and procedures on Monday.  Today found us writing about the importance of reading and writing. I have asked them to bring a binder with dividers (five) for my class. Tomorrow, I will be organizing the ones who have their binders and dividers with them. 

On-level parents, if your student brought home a bright blue syllabus signature sheet, but you haven’t signed it yet, please do since that is the primary way I build my class email lists to contact you. 

Pre-AP parents, your syllabus sheet for my class is salmon-colored.  I would like them by Friday, August 31 to make sure that my first email goes out this week and reaches the proper destination. 

Thanks in advance for your help and support as we journey through the world of literature, language, and learning today.  Ask your kids what I wore for writing time today.  Extra bonus points for those who remembered what I said about writing and my item I wore today!  Take care, and God bless!
